This recipe is so easy, and is so vastly better than the canned version, that you must try it! We love this sauce!!!
Easy Homemade Cranberry Sauce
- 1 lb Cranberries
- 1-2 C Sugar (we use 1 cup, as we prefer a more tart sauce)
- 1/2 C Water
- 1/2 C Fresh Orange Juice
- 2 t Grated Orange Zest
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
1. Cook all of the ingredients together in a pan, over medium heat, until most of the cranberries pop open and the sauce becomes thickened to your taste (7-12 minutes).
2. Let cool and refrigerate. Will improve with flavor if made the day before you serve it.
Makes 3 cups. Can be served as a beautiful side garnish for holiday meals, or is great over vanilla ice cream!
